Timely and Effective Reimbursement Support for a South Carolina Patient with ALS
	The Funding Team was able to go above and beyond to support a patient with ALS in South Carolina. Once a Prior Auth was submitted the team followed up diligently and were able to obtain an approval in 6 business days. In addition, the patient had limited benefit coverage which would only reimburse 60% of her speech generating device and accessories. Through national and local research, the Funding Team was able to secure two alternative funding sources that were able to reimburse the remaining 40% cost share the patient would otherwise have been responsible for.
In summary the Funding Team was able to secure an insurance authorization from a private payer and identify two separate resources that offered monetary grants to reimburse what insurance did not, all within 8 business days.
